lobular neoplasia - (pronounced) (LAH-byoo-ler NEE-oh-PLAY-zhuh) A condition in which abnormal cells are found in the lobules (glands that produce milk) of the breast. This condition rarely turns into cancer. However, a lobular neoplasm in one breast increases the risk of breast cancer in both breasts. Types of lobular neoplasia include atypical lobular hyperplasia and lobular carcinoma in situ (LCIS). Also called LIN and lobular intraepithelial neoplasia
