Gomal University
Gomal University (pronounced: /ɡoʊˈmɑːl/ uniˈvɜːrsɪti/) is a public research university located in Dera Ismail Khan in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. Founded in 1974, it is one of the oldest institutions of higher education in the country.
Etymology
The name "Gomal" originates from the Gomal River, which flows through the region. The river itself is named after the Pashto word for "valley".
