neurofeedback - (pronounced) (NOOR-oh-FEED-bak) treatment being studied to improve brain function in certain brain disorders and in patients being treated with chemotherapy for breast cancer. Sensors are attached to a person's head, allowing brain activity to be displayed as a pattern on a computer screen. A beep or tone can be used as a reward to a person for changing certain brain activities. Neurofeedback can help cancer patients deal with the stress and psychological side effects of chemotherapy.
