Cone biopsy

A scalpel, a laser knife, or a thin loop of wire heated by an electric current can be used to remove the tissue. The tissue is then examined under the microscope for signs of disease. Cone biopsy can be used to look for cervical cancer or to treat certain cervical conditions.
