insulinoma - (pronounced) (IN-suh-lih-NOH-muh) An abnormal mass that grows in the beta cells of the pancreas, which produce insulin. Insulinomas are usually benign (not cancerous). They secrete insulin and are the most common cause of low blood sugar caused by too much insulin in the body. Also referred to as beta-cell neoplasm, beta-cell tumor of the pancreas, and insulin-producing tumor of the pancreas
