Lucille Teasdale-Corti was born on January 30, 1929, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She was one of the first female surgeons in Quebec and one of the first Western surgeons in Uganda. In 1961, she co-founded [[St. Mary's Hospital Lacor]] in Gulu, Uganda, with her husband, Dr. [[Piero Corti]].
